The Habilitas Foundation is a Montreal-based foundation that supports organizations that serve people living with physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The foundation works daily toward a world of increased access, equity and respect for all, and is proud, through the generous support of the The David Aronson Memorial Fund to support the Connexions program.

Action Centre

Action Centre is the only bilingual activity day centre in Montreal that offers a wide range of programs for adults with physical disabilities. The Centre’s mission is to increase its members’ independence, personal growth and well-being through structured Educational, Social, Cultural, and Recreational opportunities, promoting peer support and acceptance, as well as raising awareness about the needs and rights of adults with physical disabilities. The Centre has been offering enriched Virtual Programming since the onset of the Covid Pandemic to foster connections and combat social isolation. The virtual programming is now being further facilitated by the Connexions Project and continues to enhance the members’ experience of being part of a virtual community.

Camp Massawippi

Camp Massawippi is a bilingual camp, specializing in welcoming children and young adults with physical impairments. All activities and programs are adapted according to their specific needs. They offer a summer overnight and day camp, and respite camps throughout the school year. During Covid, Camp Massawippi also developed a virtual camp which was a way for its campers to stay connected and reduce feelings of isolation. After seeing the impact of online programing on its members during covid, Camp Massawippi is very excited to be a part of Connexions! Connexions has further facilitated and enriched the members’ experience of being part of a virtual community.
